"It's been a little discouraging going through this because of trial and error it probably took about 4 times as long to get all this stuff off as it should have. If I ever have to tell someone how to do it I'll know a lot more about it. I might have set myself up for it by watching a video of the disassembly on a car that had been broken down and put back together to stage the video.
You'd think that the cotter pins on my car were put there by the devil. All of them were under a thick layer of grease you had to dig through to find them and half of them broke off in the bolt. Then the bolts connecting the LCA and anti-sway bar were too rusted and bent to get off. One of the bolts snapped with enough torque on the nut and the other had to be cut with a hacksaw.that is the fun part of rebuilding a mustang suspension. "
That is the fun part about rebuilding the suspension - seeing the results as you go back with the new parts. It will make a huge difference in the handling & driving of the car. Are you going to go back with a rebuilt steering box, too ? It is worth doing it now if yours has any slop. They are also adjustable - you can try adjusting the slack prior to a full rebuild/replacement.

I *think* my steering box is solid. Don't really know how to tell, I know a little slop is part of the design.
I have to take a break from the car for a while for a trip but will be back at it again in August. I think puting it back together will be easier since tightening these parts seems to be easier than loosening/breaking free the old ones

The reassembly is always easier. I love the part where new parts are going onto a clean car - and hate the greasy part.

Got the front suspension bolted in on both sides. Now for the steering.

This is all looking like it's coming together. After the steering, what's left? I'm sure you're ready to get it on the road.

I'm going to see how much of the steering I can get done tonight while the rest of my family is out of town. I'll hold off on the PS components for a while
Check off list includes: - mounting new water pump - Mounting intake manifold - mounting carburetor - replacing valve covers - Other engine accessories (Alternator and PS Pump) - Drop in fuel tank - blow out hard gas lines and replace rubber fuel lines - electronic ignition - Export brace
I have the new rear suspension but I'll do that after I get it running unless it looks like leaving the gas tank out will be a big help

Last weekend: - Installed the sway bar (need a second set of hands to get it torqued) - Installed and torqued the strut rods - Assembled and torqued all the steering linkages together except hoses
Next up: - rebuild pwr steering pump - Install steering
Anyone have an hour they could spare holding a wrench for me while I tighten bolts on the other side let me know. The sway bar needs one person reaching through the hood while I'm under the car. Getting the steering linkage supported while I bolt them in could use some help too.
Nothing on this list done yet Check off list includes: - mounting new water pump - Mounting intake manifold - mounting carburetor - replacing valve covers - Other engine accessories (Alternator and PS Pump) - Drop in fuel tank - blow out hard gas lines and replace rubber fuel lines - electronic ignition - Export brace
