That is cool. Its too bad its 15,000 bucks to start a build like that. I always wondered why they didn't do this first instead of the 67-68 fastback first.

15 K is the list price. I would think you could get them a few thousand cheaper iin today's economy. When I lived on the East Coast I saw shops replace every panel on a convertible - and the buyer ended up spending 10K + for the work and parts This was around 10 years ago, too.
There are some possibilities - this would be a good option if you had a rusty original - or you could take a short cut and buy a restored coupe and move the drivetrain & suspension over.
