I'm glad to see something coming out that is not enormous, but its not very good looking. I agree that it looks better than the last. They need to go back to the S10.

The problem, for us anyway, is that they are designing cars to appeal to Asian markets. Right now Asia has much more buying power than we poor Americans. Guess we'll just have to keep our oldies running because the alternative is unspeakable!

What have they done to my good old S-10.....? Lord that's UGLY... I wish they still made trucks that look like TRUCKS! And I miss my good old S-10! I want this truck !!!! I traded this truck for my '88 Cutlass T-Top. It was the only vehicle I've ever purchased new. It's a 1993, and I got a heck of a deal because the "rounded" '94's had just come out and the '93 was a leftover. It was a great little truck. It was a Tahoe model, loaded out with power windows, locks, rear slider, bedliner, 4.3 V6, tow package, bucket seats, console, came from the factory with the Camaro wheels and fog light valance. It took me to college, my first date with my now wife, my first apartment, my first house.....lot of firsts with this truck. The 4.3 never let me down, and I had to do a rear shaft seal on the trans at 200K...a/c at 220K (was still R-12) and it went through about four power window motors over the years. It had just over 300,000 miles when I traded it for my Cutlass, and it was a tough decision to trade it, but I'd always wanted a T-top Cutlass.... The S-10 still ran great, but the steering had a LOT of play in it, the glass in the doors rattled when you closed them, and the power locks were getting tired. I still keep in touch with it. Got the Cutlass from a friend and he's still driving the S-10. It's in Fredericksburg. He promised if he ever sells it, I get first shot to get it back. I just might do it too! Ha! -Mike

When I bought that S-10 I REALLY wanted a Syclone, but the Syclone was $18K....couldn't make that payment working part time while in college.
I loved that '93. About the only option I really wished it had was the digital dash, because I hated the goofy slotted analog gauges these had. The digitals looked a lot better and included a tachometer.
After selling the truck I found a PDF online that showed the entire workthrough to convert to the digital cluster. If I still had that truck, I'd tackle it!
Such fun!

Here's a newer pic of the truck. It has '88 Iroc-Z wheels on it now.

Yes the S-10 is much better. I still have my 91 GMC Jimmy 4dr. It has 343,000+ miles, original engine and transmission. My front windows rattle if they are down, needs new channels and front door locks are slow when it's cold. If I could find a nice S-10 or Sonoma like the one you had, I would rather have that than any new truck. The digital dash swap sounds interesting. I drove a new 92 Blazer that had one but decided on the Jimmy instead.

I'd live to have that square body S10. It looks awesome with the Iroc wheels.
