One way or another, CARclub did rock last night. T, Doc, Darnell and the hoss all trophied. Best club showing there... did any of those southside lowriders win anything? Mebbe that purple Town Car? I want a gold-plated bug catcher like that Monthe Carlo had... LOLOL

I saw darla this evening, as I had a contact for them who wants to put on a car show at the local AutoZone. I thanked her again for the Redmons Ride Pick, and she told me that they have given the responsibility of choosing awards like Best Interior, Paint, etc. along with the Redmons Pick. The new judges are the real deal: it's the two guys who run the 1257 Custom shop that opened recently in Round Rock.
I figgered Kyle and Darla decided I was in need of some good luck after the last few months of medical issues. Turns out they had nothing to do with it; two professional customizers picked it out.
I feel vindicated after the pounding I took at the last MOCA show.

To elcameeno, pissing off the Modern Mopar guys is not nice... watch out for "Killshot" the cop... talk about a guy who's full of himself. I thought I was a bag of hot wind.. SHEESH. This guy's ego is thirstier than his wanna-be racer.

When I got there the organizers parked my rather lengthy Cameeeno broadside in front of them. I hadn't even killed the engine when one of them went storming up to the guy doing the parking and started bitching. He pretty much told them 'tough, deal with it'. Then later in the evening one of the Mopar owners was leaning on my car. My girlfriend saw it and went tearing off after him. I pulled her back, but he saw her coming and put his arms up in a half hearted apology. I thought it was pretty funny.

My daughter was standing by the hoss, and one of those Mopar guys made a comment at my back about "how full of himself he is". She took one look at him, stared hard enough to burn holes in the guy, then flipped him off to his face as he turned to see where that incredible heat was coming from....

Hey pics you can see! Nice! Thanks for posting! As for the Mopar guys, did I tell you about my run-in with them at Cars and Coffee last March? Took my Dad with me and we got to the meet right at 11am. Well a lot of people got there early, and it was HOPPING and nearly full-up when we got there. So at all the enterences there are show volunteers that let you in and tell you where to park. The guy that waved me in is really nice, knows my wagon, and put me in a prime spot right near the on of the enterences...cool. So I park next to a newer Hemi Charger, pop the hood, pull out the the chairs, and start to walk toward the main show. Here's the fun part, this burly guy in an orange shirt comes jogging over and says HEY YOU CAN'T PARK THAT CAR HERE! I turn around, and at first think he's kidding, people love to kid about my wagon, and that's cool, the fact that it's funny is one of the reasons I love it.. Well one look tells me this guy isn't kidding. I ask what the problem is and he says this is THE MOPAR CORNER.... I turn around, and yes there are a lot of Mopars right up from my car, it's obviously a local club, but in front of my car is a red Corvette, behind it a Porsche 911, and up from that a 67 Riviera and a 2005 Pontiac GTO... I mean COME ON! I tell the guy I was TOLD to park here. He asks by who. I point to the show volunteer, and he says WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT! And jogs out to the show worker and starts pointing and waving his arms at me. HA! I walk over and point blank ask the guy WHY he is being such a jerk, and point at the Vette, Porsche, GTO and Riviera all near my car and "Mopar Corner...hehe". The guy is red-faced and mad, and God Bless the show volunteer. He looks at me, my car, and turns back to Mr. Mopar, and says "Do you have a car to park there?". Mopar says no...not right now, and the show volunteer tells the guy this is an open show, and can't we all just get along and enjoy it. HA! Made my day! Before goofy could turn around Dad and I walked off to enjoy the show. People are crazy.... I was a little leery about leaving my wagon wagon alone with goofy there, but I went on and walked down the road and around the corner. A few minutes later the show volunteer who helped walked up to me and and apologized for the incident, told me he knew I was a regular at the event, was glad I came out, and that he had guys posted near my car to keep an eye on it. SO COOL! Those Dodge guys need to lighten up! -Mike

Love your wagon! I bet that sled really goes with an LT-1. Wagons are cool. One of my early ones was a '74 Mazda RX-4. 2600 lbs and 110 hp from an 80 ci rotormotor. I was in college, but worked summers installing garage door openers for all the sears stores on the north side of Chicago. 15 mpg, but it hauled tools in a hurry. Another was an '87 taurus wagon, the 1st "family car" when I had kids. Pedestrian but dependable, the kids loved sitting in the "way back".

T-Man, thanks for the kind thoughts. You are so right about the club.... I don't know one collection of badder rides than ours! I am so glad I hooked up with you guys. It was one year ago at the Louis Henna Wendy's show that I first parked between Doc and James as an (unregistered) oil burner. My advice? Park next to either one of those two cars, and you will get lots of lookers by default.

I had a buddy years back that had a 70's Mazda project pickup with the Rotary engine in it. It would only start if you pulled plugs and sprayed a little oil in each hole....and it would smoke like mad and run until you took your foot off the gas. Bad rotor seals...common when they got oil, but a neat engine just to toy with. Thanks for the comments on my Roady wagon. I love that car. Welcome to the group! -Mike
