Stop laughing, these make cool hot-rods! They also tow and haul like pickup trucks. austin.craigslist.org/cto/2291596563.html -I just got off the phone with the owner, his name is Kevin. Nice guy. He's owned the car for 10 years. It's a Texas car with zero rust. The tires were put on one week before the transmission started acting up. The a/c is 7 months old and blows cold. Power seats, locks, radio, and all still work. Does have some issues though. He says the hood has a dent, as does one door on the driver's side, and it has some light hail damage. He's going to send me some pics. Also the only power window that works is the driver's door. The others need rollers done (common issue, same as Impala SS). He had the engine rebuilt about 65K miles ago and says it runs great (5.0 305 Chevy FI). He says the inside is in fair shape, but the car does almost have 300K miles on it. Car is white over red leather. He said once this transmission started acting up he just parked it, but he said it still starts right up and has a full tank of gas in it. Lowest he'll take for it is $350. He said despite the transmission issue the car could be driven home. Once it goes into 3rd and overdrive it's fine, but still, will most likely need a rebuild. I think the TV cable may just be out of adjustment. Common! He'd love to see it go to someone who'd fix it and not part it out. -Mike

Kevin, the seller, just sent me a ton of pics. www.flickr.com/photos/jandksm...7626261947565/It has the factory CD player...I so want that to put in my Cutlass. It's pretty much what I expected. The body is Texas-solid, but the inside is somewhat rough...the sun burns up interiors here. Looks like it'll need a new hood and driver's door. Bumper is also pushed. Might be able to line that up. So you get a solid rust-free car with a rebuilt engine, brand new tires, and replaced a/c for $350.

I keep looking at it. Spend a weekend detailing the crap out of it, clean up under the hood, do a few Pick-N-Pull runs for needed interior trim, re-align the front bumper, replace the hood with a white Caprice hood, tons out there in the salvage yards, and strip the yellowed clear-coat off the wheels and scrub the tires.
She'd look TONS better.
I've got a cheap interior guy that could fix the driver's seat. Replace the torn leather with red "pleather", which looks fine, wears fine and is cheap.
Find a cheap $100-300 transmission on Craigslist. I bet my tech buddy Troung would swap it in for $200-250 labor. I KNOW it's not that hard to do but he has a lift...
So figure for less than a grand total you could have a fairly nice OCC, with new a/c, new tires, and a rebuilt engine.......

Someone save it, I hate seeing the words "demo derby" when someone is selling a wagon!

He e-mailed back and said the Delco CD player works great.
SO I'll pitch in $50 and install a really nice Pioneer CD Stereo (from my Cutlass) in that car if someone wants it. I want the CD player out of it for my Cutlass BAD.
Come on, such a deal! $300 and you got a rust-free body with a good rebuilt engine, new a/c, new tires, and a high-end Pioneer CD player.
STEP UP!

That does sound like a good deal for what all you get. Maybe semone will save it.
