This one brought back some memories:

The white '59 Lincoln convertible. My Dad had one of these in the early '70s. That car is the largest production convertible ever made, and is also a unibody car. Pretty cool with options: Air suspension, power windows, seats, a/c with vents for the back seat, a hard cover for the soft top, power back window that could be raised/lowered independent of the top, self dimming headlights, etc, etc. He was very proud of the 'Town and Country' radio - which would seek out stations automatically. It was quite the cruiser. He sold it to a friend out in Odessa - and he kept it up until the late 90s. The car had about 40K miles on it when it sold at that point and was 100% stock survivor. The only new items were the rubber (tires, belts, hoses) and he had to put on a new top.

I remember my Dad making us sit perfectly still in the back seat and then anxiously looking in the mirror to make sure our shoes didn't touch the leather. I was a tiny kid - and my legs were so short that they would stick straight out.

My Dad has an identical car to the '58 Skyliner now. The only difference I can see is that my Dad put on the T-Bird wires instead of the hubcaps.

And finally ... My Grandfather had a Duesenberg roadster in the early 50s. He owned a wrecking yard in Dallas and bought a roadster in non-running condition from a long storage. It was in good overall condition - but had been sitting in a garage since before the war. He fixed it up (probably a 50s style low quality restoration) and then sold it. I forget the price - but it was pretty low. I remember My Grandfather telling the story that he had made out like a bandit - and sold it for the price of a new car at the time. I suppose a new Ford in '53 or '54 was probably around 2K ....

My Dad has been trying to find out which car it was as most of them are still around due to their high value.
