For those sharing my age or era of music..... Boston is releasing another album December 3rd. They have always been one of my favorites in the old foggy memory bank. Maybe it was because they didn't get excessive airplay back in the day. Maybe it's just correlated to fond foggy memories that include the first season of Saturday Night Live. Either way, Boston has always been a great band, and I have never grown tired of them or found them to be "worn out" whenever any of their songs come on the radio.
Enjoy-

Boston is one the greatest bands ever, but in all fairness this new album blows.

Kinda like the last Eagles album was a somewhat of a letdown. Ditto Fleetwood Mac
Tom Petty can still make a good album. He's overdue for a new one.

Much like movies, music also tends to end up that the first one made is the best, and it goes down hill from there. Not true for all music or movies, but many.
My understanding is that they signed a record deal back in the day (1975?) when they were young, to make 5 albums. All of the songs that were on the first one were stuff they had written and built up through high school.
Anything thereafter was a requirement for them to produce. Their 2nd album, "Don't Look Back" was pretty good, but the 3rd one with Amanda, and whatever the 4th one was, were not so hot.
Apparently this is their 5th required album, being made after threats from the record producers that held the original contract that they were in breach of contract for not making the 5 albums. They were forced back together to do this, so not surprised if it isn't any good. But they are all quality musicians none the less.

I haven't heard it yet but I am willing to bet it is better than most of the crap that passes for music these days.
