Made a deal over the phone this morning on an 88 Formula in Richardson TX.
Seller has part on order and plans on having rear end repaired by 9-9-11.
Bus ticket is $39 and takes 5 1/2 hours. I would much rather find a ride up there,
and I can help towards gas. Anybody here heading that direction next friday?

Out of the 69 cars I've owned, 10 have been birds. Number 11 will be my keeper (yeah right, I've heard that before).  |

New developement...deal fell thru. The car is still for sale, but the seller refuses to sell to me.
Short story long...made deal over the phone on Tuesday, with new pinion gear installed (waiting on seller to install).
On Thursday, he said part just arrived and he would call me when ready. I told him if it could happen this week-end, that would be great. By Saturday I was anxious and called him twice (left recording, I was pleasant). Sunday I called 4 times (only 2 recordings, I was pleasant). Monday (today) morning he calls me all upset saying I was disrespectful for calling so many times and I should have waited for his call. He told me I blew it, and he would not sell me the car.
I was stunned, couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I don't know why he was so upset about your phone calls. Thats what happens when your trying to make a deal with someone and make plans to meet. All I can say is screw that guy. Let him sit on it and realize that he will have to wait longer to sell now. I would NOT buy it even if he changes his mind and calls you.

Budget - $1800
Gotta have - 82-92 Formula or T/A, 5 speed, T-tops,
Like to have - TPI, WS6, black or grey cloth interior
Ultimate - 92 Formula WS6, TPI, 5 speed, T-tops, black on black cloth.
The one in Kansas is the ultimate but has grey cloth
with electrical problems for $1250.
Oh, and the one in Richardson that I can't buy because I'm disrespectful, is the ultimate but an 88.

I'd put the $1800 in a box under the bed, save another $1200, and look for cars around $3500 and talk them down to $3K. You can get a NICE 3rd gen for 3K if you look. My 2-cents! |
