I have already gotten several quotes for this but wanted to see if any of you had some ideas I had not looked into before I contract with someone to ship my car home.
Thanks, Ed

I also have gone to get and bring back 3 vehicles.
Bus to Chicago Rideshare to Richmond VA Plane to Chicago
Two made it back fine, but one left me stranded. Took the bus back and hired Uship carrier to bring back.

I'm going to see my brother in a couple weeks but I can't use our Toyota mini-van to haul it back or I would.
I don't think it is safe to drive back in its current condition. power steering is very loose and it bump steers pretty badly

There are a lot of carriers that ship cars - I would shop for the best price and get references. I moved out here from Glen Allen, Va. I had cars shipped to Va, and they shipped our two antique cars out here when we moved back. I paid about 700.00 per car to have it shipped (about 5 years ago). The trip back out here was enclosed storage - Sounds expensive, but the time you figure in your gas, food, hotel, etc. when driving it comes out to be a pretty good deal.
All my car shipping experiences have been good. they are very careful - have drip pans, seat covers, etc - no worries at all with the service.

I had my Corvette shipped here from Tennessee last December for about $750. I might have saved a couple of bucks going to get it, but the time and aggravation wasn't worth it.

I found a guy who beat most of the other quotes I got by about $100 and it was a referral from a friend so I believe he is legit.
I did the math and financially it makes complete sense to ship it instead of going to get it. A U-Haul car trailer costs almost $500 for the trip, then gas and hotel room for one night and it is a 2 day drive.
Thanks.
