I thought the B-17 station was really cool. My Dad was in the top machine gun bubble turret in one in WW2.

I know I wouldn't want the position of belly turret.

Yeah, he said that guy had to get in there, and his feet were up high at shoulder height, with the gun between your legs. Very uncomfortable.

I remember that Stuckey's had this strange ability to pull my Dad's car off the highway. I don't think we ever passed one on a road trip.

Here is an amusing old pic I thought some might get a kick or laugh out of. Me in 1987 on my Kawasaki Z1 Dragbike. My hair was moussed, but not quite a mullet, I was actually in shape, and had just started the Fire Dept and was going to college in the Paramedic program. (I wish the picture was clearer, that is a 1986 Alamo Dragway shirt) Man, what happened?!?! 1973 Kawasaki Z1-900, with a Z1-R 1000 engine bored to 1105, smooth bore carbs, solid struts, etc. Wish I still had it.

The gas station bomber brought back a long forgotten memory. When I was a kid we lived in Odessa. The park near my house had a B-24 as a playscape. I tried to find a photo of it with no luck. I found one article that said Odessa sold it for scrap in the early '80s. I did find a video of the park. Make sure you turn the sound down or you will suffer through Gene Wilder singing. It is funny to see how the view of safety for kids has changed. The playground was full of metal and concrete objects to climb - handrails and other safety items we take for granted just didn't exist. I remember the slides where incredibly tall and hot (polished metal). www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztWuJoMDHTU
